Cara Schwartz, Registered Veterinary Technician, Practice Manager

Cara was born and raised in Kokomo and graduated from Kokomo High School in 1995.  After high school, she went on to Purdue University where she earned her Associate's Degree of Science from the School of veterinary medicine.  In June 1999, Cara received her certification from the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners as a Registered Veterinary Technician.

Cara is married to her husband Andy and they have two children, Ethan and Jack  They also have one dog: Smiley, a Greyhound, and three cats: Bella, Remy, and Ringo.

Cara enjoys spending her personal time with her family and friends.

She is actively involved in the following professional organizations:

Kyonna Fisher, B.S., Registered Veterinary Technician

Kyonna was born and raised in Peru, IN.  After graduating from Peru High School in 1997, Kyonna attended Purdue University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 2001.  She went on to receive her certification from the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners as a Registered Veterinary Technician in February 2001.  Kyonna has worked for JRAH since 2001.

Kyonna shares her home with 4 cats: Rhubarb, Lily, Cheezie, and Mimi; two English -cross Guinea Pigs:  Butternut and Oscar;  two Abyssinian Guinea Pigs: Penelope and Sullivan;  an American Pit bull named Sadie, and a Great Dane named Cole.

As if all her pets don't keep her busy enough, Kyonna spends her free time reading and working in her yard.

Melissa Phillips, BA, Registered Veterinary Technician

Melissa was born and raised in Kokomo and graduated from Kokomo High School in 2002.  She went on to Purdue University where she graduated in 2006 with her Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Technology.  She became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2006.  She started as a volunteer in our volunteer program at the age of 13 and was hired as a animal care assistant in March 2000.  She is currently in charge of our Volunteer Program. 

In her spare time, Melissa enjoys Purdue sports and hanging out with her friends and family.  She also enjoys spending time outside and shopping.  She shares her home with her Poodle, Russ and her cat, Ivy.

Rhonda Beatty, Office Assistant

Rhonda was born and raised in Kokomo and graduated from Western High School.  She has worked at JRAH since November 2001.  She has three children- Jennifer, Johnathan, and Allie.

Donna Norris, Office Assistant

Donna was born and raised in Buffalo, New York and moved to Kokomo in 1984. 

Donna is married to Paul and has 2 kids, Bryan and Olivia .  She enjoys Gardening and cross stitch while not working.  She also has 2 pet dogs, Tapanga and Rollie.

Donna has worked for JRAH since 2007.

David Chapman, Animal Care Assistant

David was born in Marion, IN but now calls Kokomo home.  He has two brothers and three sisters.

David shares his life with his cat Suzie and enjoys watching football and basketball when not caring for the pets in the kennel.  He also likes going to the movies and listening to music.

David says that working with the animals is the best part of his job.
